Walking Tour and Beer Tasting Event:
Industrial History of South East False Creek

Location: Meet at SE Corner of West 1st Ave. & Crowe St., ends at Legacy Liquor

Heritage Vancouver and the City of Vancouver Archives invite you spend an afternoon touring South East False Creek and tasting beer along with salty snacks.

Historian Isaac Vanderhorst will lead you on an interactive discovery of the industrial history of South East False Creek. Isaac will uncover surviving industrial remnants of former building sites, and tell unique stories about momentous events from the area's forgotten past.

One of the outstanding stories you will hear is the pivotal role played by over 3000 men and women involved in the shipbuilding industry on this site during the First and Second World Wars. This area became the Olympic Village Site and is now being transformed into the Village at False Creek.

After the tour we will head to the Legacy Liquor store, taste a range of beer and nibble on some delicious snacks.

The evening is an opportunity to celebrate the season with old friends and colleagues at the historic Roedde House Museum, which will be decorated for a Victorian style Christmas. Come and bring your favourite appetizer or dessert and join in the festivities of the season.
